I want to capture the beauty, out of something that is mundane.

My photography is inspired by the desire to hard copy all the beauty that comes in front of my lens. Perhaps this motivation is rooted in my travels, which began at an early age. I was born in the Netherlands and growing up, our navy family moved every three years. When I was 12 years old, we lived on the Island of Curaçao in the Caribbean, where I bought my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic. From that time on, photography has been my passion. Once I left home, I kept on moving and traveling. In my twenties I lived in the Middle East for four years, after which I  backpacked for months through Southeast Asia before settling down for eight years on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. In 2004, I moved to Kingston, ON. with my Canadian husband.

I would call myself an intuitive photographer with an impulsive bent, so my work is not entirely consistent; rather, it reflects a wide variety of different themes.
It is what catches my eye and the lens of my  camera at that one moment in life.
